Gordon and Sheila MacRae welcomed MacRae into the world on May 30th, 1944 in Houston, Texas. At the tender age of 8, Meredith embarked on an acting journey, making her debut in the 1953 feature movie By the Light of the Silvery Moon.

In 1964, Meredith married Richard Berger, former president of MGM, exchanged their vows. However, the marriage did not last and they divorced in 1968.

The following year, Meredith tied the knot with Greg Mullavey, an actor, and had their daughter, Allison, with whom they shared their family until 1992 when their marriage also came to an end.

In 1995, Meredith tied the knot with Philip Neal, the Chairman and CEO of Avery-Dennison. However in 1999, she received the devastating news that she had cancer.

On July 14, 2000 Meredith Lynn MacRae sadly passed away due to the consequences of a series of surgeries and her body's allergic reactions to certain medications, which had caused her brain to inflate.
