Neal Mohan, an Indian-American business executive, has been appointed as the new CEO (chief executive officer) of YouTube, succeeding long-time CEO Susan Wojcicki. After a successful 9-year tenure as the head of the video sharing website, Wojcicki announced she is stepping down and passing the leadership torch to Mohan.

With this appointment, Mohan will join the likes of Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft's Satya Nadella, Adobe's Shantanu Narayen, and IBM's Arvind Krishna in the list of global tech executives of Indian origin.

Neal Mohan holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, which set him off on a successful career path across numerous organizations.

He began as Senior Analyst at Accenture, later becoming Vice-President of Business Operations at DoubleClick Inc. and Manager of Corporate Strategy at Microsoft, before taking on the role of Senior Vice President of Display and Video Ads at Google.
