Kathleen Coghlan is the trailblazing leader of a revolutionary movement in Kansas City. She is an innovative character crafted by Mazin, representing a group of hunters who feature in the game.
Mazin likened Kathleen to Madame Defarge from Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities (1859), creating an image of a revolutionary who has had to endure hardships and yet still manages to evoke empathy from the audience.
Kathleen was unconvinced at first, until Mazin elaborated on the personality of the character he had in mind-someone who had been forced to step into the role of her deceased brother - whom he referred to as "pretty much a Jesus figure".
