Stee was born in 1989 in Bluffton, South Carolina. His musical journey took a unique path, shaped by his early aspirations and the inspiration he found in unexpected places. While his parents were classically trained singers, Stee initially had different ambitions and aimed to become an engineer. However, his life took a different turn when he encountered the music of R&B vocalist Mario. This encounter served as a catalyst for Stee’s own musical aspirations, and he began pursuing a career in music.
In 2014, Stee formed his own band and started performing at various events, including weddings. Throughout his journey, he had a strong source of support and inspiration in his cousin, Matthew. Matthew also harbored dreams of becoming a singer, but he faced the challenges of living with diabetes, which physically limited his ability to pursue his musical dreams. Despite his own obstacles, Matthew consistently encouraged Stee to audition for “The Voice” starting in 2013.
Tragically, Stee never had the opportunity to share the news of his upcoming “The Voice” audition with Matthew, as Matthew passed away in May.
