Steven Yeun is a South Korean-born American actor who is best known for his role as Glenn Rhee on the hit AMC series “The Walking Dead”.
After growing up in Troy, Michigan and attending Kalamazoo College, he moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue a career in acting. Yeun started off his career performing improv comedy and made appearances on shows like “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “The Big Bang Theory”.
After multiple roles, Yeun was cast in “The Walking Dead” and quickly became a fan favorite. He won “Best Supporting Actor” award at the 2018 Los Angeles Film Critics Association.

Steven Yeun was born in Seoul, South Korea to June and Je Yeun. His parents met in South Korea after they migrated from South Korea and were married in 1982. They moved to the Canada in 1988, when Steven was just 3 years old.
His parents struggled with adapting to life in a new country, working hard to learn English and find employment. Despite their difficulties, they provided a loving and supportive home for their son Steven and his younger brother Brian.
The family later moved to the U.S. and settled in Taylor, Michigan, and then Troy, Michigan, where Yeun lived until he graduated from Troy High School in 2001.
Steven’s parents have always been very supportive of his career, and they accompanied him to events such as the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards. They share a special bond with their son and take pride in their support of his career.
Yeun was raised in a Christian household. Steven’s parents owned beauty-supply stores in Detroit. They have always been close with him, even during his college years. They would often travel to Michigan to visit Steven and see him participate in plays and school programs.
