Nabiyah Be is an American actress, singer and dancer. She came into spotlight after her portrayal as Simone Jackson in Amazon Prime’s television series Daisy Jones & The Six. She also played minor role in Black Panther. Nabiyah is daughter of Sonia Gomes and Jimmy Cliff.
Who is Nabiyah Be?
Nabiyah was born on August 15, 1992 in Salvador, State of Bahia, Brazil. She was surrounded by creative culture. By age 5, she had already developed a passion for performing and began to explore different outlets; dance, poetry, performance, and music.
She joined her father, reggae musician Jimmy Cliff, on tour from a young age of 7 and gained valuable experience of the stage. As she entered her teenage years, Nabiyah wanted to hone her skills further and so stayed in Brazil, becoming a background vocalist for celebrated artists such as Daniela Mercury and Carlinhos Brown. Alongside this, she engaged in theater production to develop her skills.

Nabiyah has continually pushed the boundaries of what she can achieve. She has become the first Black Brazilian woman to win a major American theatrical award. Nabiyah has originated roles in some of the most popular TV, Film, and theater productions.
She was Simone Jackson in Amazon Prime’s Daisy Jones and The Six, Linda in Marvel’s Black Panther, Off-Broadway Eurydice in the Tony Award winning folk-opera Hadestown, and Erika in the Off-Broadway hit School Girls; or The African Mean Girls play. Her work earned her a Drama Desk award.
Her notoriety led her to performing on some of New York City’s most esteemed stages like the Apollo Theater, S.O.B’s and Rockwood Music Hall.
She has collaborated with Latin Grammy nominated artist and current Brazilian Minister of Culture Margareth Menezes on their song QUERERA.
Family
Nabiyah was born into a privileged family. Her father is Jimmy Cliff – a reggae singer who has released numerous albums since 1967, such as Hanging Fire, Shout For Freedom and Save Out Planet Earth.
Her mother is Sonia Maria Gomes Silva, a doctor and Ph.D. holder in Clinical Psychology, who also serves as a somatic experiencing teacher and creator of SOMA-Embodiment. She has two siblings: Lilty Cliff and Aken Cliff.
Nabiyah loves her parents dearly, and has taken to social media to share photos with her mother.
Boyfriend
Nabiyah Be is an immensely gifted singer. Despite not revealing the identity of her clandestine boyfriend, sources have indicated that he is the well-known Italian actor, Giacomo Rocchini, who has made numerous appearances on both television and in theater.
She has shared several romantic pictures of them together across her social media platforms.
