Her mother, Julie Davila, is a Drummer, educator, marching percussion clinician, and president of the PAS board of directors, and her father Lalo Davila is a first-generation Mexican American who writes, and teaches music at Middle Tennessee State University, directs the percussion ensemble and is also a professor of music. She has an older sibling named Danielle. She finished a Lyndon Technique course.

Career
Marisa Davila sang the role of Jasmine in the Disney Junior stage production of Aladdin when she was a little child. She appeared in the short film Text History of Jane as Jane in 2015. In 2016, the short movie went on to win the American Advertising Federation’s National ADDY Award. She played the role of Princess Leia in the 2020 rom-com film Holidate.
Marisa debuted with the television rom-com drama-musical series Crazy EX-Girlfriend in 2016. In the same year, she acted in the comedy series Liv and Middle as Choir Member 1 in 2016. She did various episodic roles in Speechless as Mary (2017), Atypical as Madison Gold (2017), Clock & Dagger as Choir Member 3 (2018), and Carol’s Second Act as Harper (2019). She got featured in the series Schooled as Gina Rivera from 2019 to 2020. In 2020, she appeared in the American coming-of-age black comedy series I Am Not Okay with This as Mercedes Callahan.
