Jigna Jitendra Vora was born in 1974 in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Law from DG Ruparel College and a diploma in mass communications from K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai. Her journey into crime reporting began with the guidance of her faculty member, Velly Thevar, a well-known crime reporter.

After getting married in 1998 and later separating from her husband, Jigna returned to her maternal home in Garodia Nagar, Ghatkopar, with her four-year-old son. As a single mother, she decided to pursue a career in the media.
