Amy began her career as an actress with the television movie Her Costly Affair played the role of Dee in 1996. In the same year, she did a short film, A & P 1996 as Queenie, directed by Bruce Schwartz. In 1997 she did a lot of movies like Campfire Tales as Jenny, The Last Time I Committed Suicide as Jeananne, Starship Troopers as Pilot Cadet Stack Lumbreiser, and High Voltage as Molly. She got featured in the film How to Make the Cruelest Month as Dot Bryant in 1998. Later Amy appeared in the movie Circles as Allison in 1998.

In 1999, Amy starred in the television film Brookfield directed by Arvin Brown as Daly Roberts. In the same year, she acted in the film Outside Providence 1999 as Jane Weston.
