Swaroopa Ghosh was born on 12 April 1962 in West Bengal, India. Her father Ati Ranjan and mother Aruna Das who is an writer. Swaroopa made her debut in film industry with the romantic comedy film Vicky Donor where she played a role of Pishi Aunty in 2012. She subsequently appeared in several films like Vara: A Blessing (2013), Monsoon Baby (2014), NH-8: Road to Nidhivan (2015), Piku (2015), Ghawre Bairey Aaj (2019), Shantilal O Projapoti Rohoshyo (2019) and many more.
Swaroopa got main role of Sherna Patel (Defense Minister) in the action thriller film War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in 2019. In 2022, she appeared in Netflix’s Scoop web series with alongside Karishma Tanna, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub and Inayat Sood etc.
