Arun Vijay is an Indian actor who works primarily for Telugu film industry. He is famous for his antagonist role Victor Manoharan in the film Yannai Arandhaal in 2015. Arun Vijay was born on 19 November 1977 in Madras (Now: Chennai), Tamil Nadu to a Hindu family. He is the son of a veteran actor Vijay Kumar. His mother’s name is Muthukannu. Arun’s parents were separated in his childhood. Later, Vijay Kumar married Manjula Vijaykumar who is also an actress. Kavitha and Anitha are two elder sisters who also debuted in film industry in 1995. He also has three step sisters.

He did his schooling from Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Egmore. After that he completed his graduation from Loyola college, Chennai.

Career

Arun started getting film offers when he was in high school but his father denied it, because he wanted to Arun to complete his schooling first. He gained a strong interest in acting by watching his father’s movies. He was very much inspired by him.

After studies, he signed for a musical Love Story to be his acting debut. But that film was delaying to start so he signed an other film named Murai Mappillai in 1995. At the age of 18 years, he became one of the youngest Tamil actor who debut as a male lead actor. He subsequently got opportunity to act in movies like Priyam, Ganga Gowri, Mutham, Vedha, Malai Malai, Pandavar Bhoomi etc. In 2022, he appeared in Tamil film Oh My Dog, played the role of a man who likes animals.
