Shweta debuted with the television serial Kaleerein broadcasted on DD National in the year 1999. Her second project by Doordarshan Ane Wala Pal, which aired on DD Metro in 2000. She featured in the television show Kaahin Kissii Roz, after which she starred as Prerna on Kasautii Zindagii Kay, which took place between 2001 and 2008. In 2013, she appeared as Sweety Ahluwalia in Parvarrish. She played in the most popular TV series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Khichdi, and Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.
