Subi Suresh was an Indian television host, anchor and actress who featured in some of the most popular shows. She sadly passed away at 41 on 22 February 2023 after suffering from liver complications in a private hospital in Kochi. Her death came as a shock to many of her fans who enjoyed watching her work.
There is no doubt that Subi Suresh will be remembered for her incredible accomplishments throughout her career. She leaves behind a lasting legacy that will be cherished by many.
Biography
Subi Suresh was born in Kochi, Kerala. She did schooling from Radcliffe School, Kochi and later went to St. Teresa’s College to pursue bachelor’s degree in arts.
Career
Subi Suresh was renowned for her sharp wit and comedic timing. She first began her career as a dancer and mimicry artist and was then a part of several comedy stage shows with the Kalabhavan troupe.
Stint in movies
The actress also made her debut in Mollywood with Rajasenan’s ‘Kanaka Simhasanam’.
She has worked in over 20 films, including Grihanathan, Happy Husbands, Panchavarnathatha, Drama, 101 Weddings, Elsamma Enna Aankutty, Thaksara Lahala and Lucky Jokers.
Television career
As a rare female mimicry artist, Suresh quickly gained popularity when she hit the screen. Her captivating and pleasing personality earned her roles in many TV serials, and soon she became a household name. Her debut on the small screen was a success, as she was seen in various comedy TV shows such as Cinemala on Asianet.
She also hosted ‘Kutty Pattalam’, a chat show featuring children, which went on to become quite popular in the state.

Suresh is survived by her parents and brother.
Condolences
Suresh’s death has shocked many in the film fraternity.
Surabhi Lakshmi, an actress who had a close relationship with Suresh, sadly mourned her passing. She said Subi never mentioned about her illness, though they spoke for a long time over phone.
Condoling her death, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that she won a place in the hearts of Malayalis through reality shows and comedy programmes.
Actor Manoj K Jayan posted a photo of Subi on Instagram and wrote,
“Condolences 🌹🙏.” Actor Shwetha Menon, meanwhile, shared, “SHOCKING…. SOMETIMES GOODBYES ARE DIFFICULT TO SAY ….KEEP SPREADING POSITIVE YOU WERE EVER YOU ARE SUBIIIII🙏.
