After completing his early education from Sishya School, Chennai, he moved to Australia and got double major degree in Management and Marketing (Commerce) from the University of Adelaide. He is the first Indian to be awarded the Oxford Cambridge Half-Blue award by the University of Adelaide of cricketing excellence.

Career
Suhail started his career as a cricketer. He played for Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the Indian Premier League for two years but his career could not last much due to acute knee-injuries. After this, Suhail started his career in acting and played an important role in the Tamil films Arrambam and Veeram.
In 2014, He became a sports presenter and commentator at Star Sports. Due to which he gained a lot of popularity. He has hosted and anchored in ICC World Cup 2015, ICC T20 World Cup 2016, ICC Champions Trophy 2017 for Star Sports. He has also worked internationally for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
