Writtick Chatterjee was born on 28 September 1992 to a Hindu family in Jamtara, a small village located in the Ausgram, Bengal. He used to work for Pr. AG Bengal under C&AG. His father Vijay Chattopadhyay is a retired teacher and lived in Kolkata due to work. His father’s heartfelt wish is that Writtick play matches for KKR in the IPL.

Career
Writtick was fond of playing cricket since childhood. Instead of son of a teacher, he used to spend more time in playing cricket than studies. When he performed brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy, his family and siblings wanted him to play in the IPL as soon as possible. Writtick played for Bengal cricket team in First Class and List-A.
Writtick made his List-A debut in 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 5 February 2018. In December 2017, he scored a double century against Gujarat in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy First Class and on July 2018, Writtick was included in the Indian Red Squad in the 2018–19 Duleep Trophy.
